As one of the leading masters of modern Chinese art, Wu Guanzhong (1919–2010) sets a fine example by donating large portions of his works to public museums, most generously to the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA). Based on the Museum’s invaluable collection of Wu’s paintings, and supplemented by valuable archival and historical materials with over 200 coloured illustrations, the publication introduces the life of Wu Guanzhong and his artworks, it also serves as an essential reference for the appreciation of his art and artistic theories.
